Building a new design system to host multiple brands

Marshall Group
Senior UX designer

Background – When I joined Zound Industries in 2022, the company was designing headphones and speakers for multiple brands, including in-house names like Urbanears and external collaborations with Marshall and adidas. In 2023, Zound Industries acquired Marshall Group and became a global sound giant. I was part of the internal design team, working closely with the development team.

Challange – All brands under the Zound Industries umbrella shared key functionalities, such as connectivity and sound settings. However, each brand had its own structure and component libraries, with no unified design system to document and support shared processes.

Outcome – After I moved all design from Sketch to Figma, I facilitated cross-team workshops with design, development, and QA to align on the upcoming design system. A multi-brand design system was created and implemented in Frontify, and all component libraries and design files were restructured. I also contributed to the development of a new design process to support a growing design team. I designed multiple app features for new products, translating complex technical functionality into clear, user-friendly experiences.
